After yesterday and this morning's comments by the Iranian President and Hugo Chavez to The United Nations and the American Public, the President of the United States has the opportunity to gove the perfect speech to the American People. The speech should be as follows:

Ladies and Gentelmen, I have just signed an executive order which states that the United States of America hereby is withdrawn from the United Nations.

In accordance with this new law, all representatives of the United Nations, their foreign employees and families have thirty days to vacate the country. Any of the aforementioned folks who are still in the country after that date will be arrested as illegal aliens.

Thank you and may God continue to bless our Country.

McCAIN, POWELL HAVE KISSED PRESIDENTIAL CHANCES GOODBYE

You heard it here first.

Yesterday, in a stunning and an amazingly stupid fashion, both John McCain
and Colin Powell pissed away any chance of ever becoming President, and more importantly, the Commander-in-Chief of our armed forces. You can read it and weep, here. How could these to ex flag officers be so blind to the electorate and why?

It has been just a few weeks since the methods used by the White House and the British MI-6 stopped an attempt to bring down at least 10 American airplanes bound for the U.S. from Great Britain.

The President has asked for the Congress to approve his methods, which has kept us safe, so no harm can be done on our CIA operatives who are trying to protect America and the west from the most savage and brutal enemies we have ever faced.

Why? I do not know the answer to this question, but I do know that they do not have the best interest of our servicemen and women in their hearts when they defy the President over this matter, no matter what they say. Perhaps it is a political ploy or perhaps they like the praise that the liberal media (Who also don't have our servicemen and women's best interest at heart).

I do not know why good men are willing to place our security and safety at risk, but I do know this: They can forget ever getting a vote from me for Commander-In-Chief. They now join the likes of John Kerry and Hillary Clinton, who can never be allowed to be CIC. As a retired United States Air Force Senior Non Commissioned Officer and First Sergeant, I am qualified to decide who will or will not make a good Commander-In-Chief and deem the aformentioned people not worthy.

FOOTBALL, ELECTION SEASON IS HERE!!!

This weekend marked two long awaited seasons: College Football and Elections.

A great opening of the College Football season, My beloved Tennessee Vols trounced the a top ten team, the Cal Bears with ease, Texas, Ohio State won handily over admittedly mismatched apponents, Notre Dame barely one, Southern Cal picked up where it left off, and finally Florida state one the Slugfest (Thugfest) against Miami. What a great start of the season.

Time now to turn to the election season. Democrats have for months tried to tell everyone that they are going to win back both houses of Congress. Ha. They have as much chance as Northern Illinois did of beating Ohio State or North Texas did of beating Texas.

After many months of saying that the country is going in the wrong direction, fatigue with the Iraq War, and crying that the best economy since Reagan is terrible, the Democrats wake up this morning to a horrible fact. While the country may be tired of the Iraq War, they are already asking what the democrats are going to do better than the Republicans have, and are already tired of the Democrats answer, which is: We Hate George W. Bush. Ask any question to any Democrat party official running for election or re-election and you get the same answer: We hate George W. Bush.

This is no way to win an election, especially, since most Americans don't hate George W. Bush.

While I predict that the Tennessee Vols, Texas Longhorns, Ohio State Buckeyes and Southern Cal Trojans will have a teriffic season, the Democrats will not. They may be the most overrated party in the history of the United States.

Check back in the middle of November and see if my progostications are correct.

JOSEPH WILSON LIES MAY HAVE GRAVE CONSEQUENCES

On Feb 27, 1968, Walter Cronkite began a series of broadcasts about how the TET offensive by the North Vietnamese had overrun the Americans and how we had lost the war. History has proven that the broadcasts and remarks by "Uncle Walter" during his nightly broadcasts were wrong. There is great reason to believe that they were not only wrong, but were purposful lies to destroy the war effort by the United States in Vietnam. The broadcasts were designed to tell half truths and deceive the American public. They worked. Public opinion turned against the war and would later cause the U.S. to "cut and run". We also know that the lives of 3,000,000 cambodians and half a million South Vietnamese were forfiet to these deceitful actions by the American News Media, aided and with the blessings of the Democrat Party. "Uncle Walter" and the news media have yet to apologize to the American Public, because to do so would expose them to grief from the American Public. It was done for political reasons. It failed to reach the political goal of bringing McGovern and his ilk to power in this country. The Democrats were willing to lose a war to bring themselves to power.

In 2002, Joseph wilson was sent to Niger to confirm British Reports of Iraq trying to buy yellow cake. Everything Mr. Wilson did and said about this trip has been confirmed to be a lie.

The Democrats have once again put their desire for political power ahead of the best interests of the country. They knew that everything Joseph Wilson was saying. Indeed they may have orchestrated the whole thing, from Ms. Plame's (Mrs. Wilson) suggesting that he be sent to Niger to every lie that was spread by him and his sicophants after his return. The whole affair is nothing less than treasonous. As in 1968, media clammer with no respect for the truth was very costly, but these by Democrats and Wilson may have consequences even graver than a loss of a war. It may cost millions of lives and the loss of our way of life.

Damn the Democrats and their penchant to lie to gain power. Merle S. Adams posted a very astute article about the Democrats and how they will use lies to gain powerlink here> for the interesting comments starting with #95.

The Democrat Party is not only disgusting but are treasonous in their efforts to undermine the Bush administration. They have no concern for the Country. Remember this when you go to the polls in November of this year.

I AM SHOCKED, SHOCKED THAT IRAN HAS GIVEN THE UN THE FINGER

Shocked, I say. Iran obviously is unaware of the great power wielded by the United Nunu's , er the United Nations. The Security council gave them a deadline of today to stop encriching uranium. They must be shaking in their dirty robes.

Some real truths are evident to anyone with an IQ higher than 75 (Sorry, Hollywood Liberals, maybe you can get a conservative to explain it to you, if you know any).

These truths are:

1. The United Nations is not united.

2. The United Nations Security council provides no security, nor is it even much of a council, as council's go.

3. United Nations sanctions is only a meaningless word.

Anyone who does not agree with the above truths, are either stupid or liberal. Actually, they are most likely both.

I walked down the street in Barcelona, and suddenly discovered a terrible truth - Europe died in Auschwitz.

We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.

The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned.

And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.

They have turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime.

Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.

And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition.

We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for hoping for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.

What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe.

Noah in 2006

In the year 2006, the Lord came unto Noah, who was now living in the United States, and said, "Once again, the earth has become wicked and over-populated, and I see the end of all flesh before me.

Build another Ark and save 2 of every living thing along with a few good humans."

He gave Noah the blueprints, saying, "You have 6 months to build the Ark before I will start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights."

Six months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah weeping in his yard - but no Ark.

"Noah!" He roared, "I'm about to start the rain! Where is the Ark?"

"Forgive me, Lord," begged Noah, "but things have changed. I needed a building permit. I've been arguing with the inspector about the need for a sprinkler system. My neighbors claim that I've violated the neighborhood zoning laws by building the Ark in my yard and exceeding the height limitations. We had to go to the Development Appeal Board for a decision.

Then the Department of Transportation demanded a bond be posted for the future costs of moving power lines and other overhead obstructions, to clear the passage for the Ark's move to the sea. I told them that the sea would be coming to us, but they would hear nothing of it.

Getting the wood was another problem. There's a ban on cutting local trees in order to save the spotted owl. I tried to convince the environmentalists that I needed the wood to save the owls - but no go!

When I started gathering the animals, an animal rights group sued me.

They insisted that I was confining wild animals against their will. They argued the accommodation was too restrictive, and it was cruel and inhumane to put so many animals in a confined space.

Then the EPA ruled that I couldn't build the Ark until they'd conducted an environmental impact study on your proposed flood.

I'm still trying to resolve a complaint with the Human Rights Commission on how many minorities I'm supposed to hire for my building crew.

Immigration and Naturalization are checking the green-card status of most of the people who want to work.

The trades unions say I can't use my sons. They insist I have to hire only Union workers with Ark-building experience.

To make matters worse, the IRS seized all my assets, claiming I'm trying to leave the country illegally with endangered species.

So, forgive me, Lord, but it would take at least 10 years for me to finish this Ark."

Suddenly the skies cleared, the sun began to shine, and a rainbow stretched across the sky. Noah looked up in wonder and asked, "You mean you're not going to destroy the world?"

"No," said the Lord. "The government beat me to it."

DEMOCRAT PARTY CLOSES DOORS.

Innability to win elections as any level in the last 10 years, the once great Democrat Party is no more. After losing 25 seats in the House and 6 Senate seats which followed after a crushing presidential defeat in 2008, the Party Spokeswoman, Cindy Sheehan, crying big tears and blaming the Republican Party for killing her party announced this morning that the Democrat Party is broke. The Party has closed all offices and have declared bankruptcy. There is no word yet what political name the 35 Democrat Congressmen and 13 Senators who still call themselves Democrats will now refer to themselves.

A crack investigator on the staff of RP News Service has delved into the demise and state of the now Defunct Democrat Party and has offered this analysis of the slow, painful death of the Party.

The last presidential election the Democrats won without outside help or skullduggery by the party was in 1948. In 1960, the most popular rock star of poliitical history, John F. Kennedy Became the President in 1961. A study of this victory has clearly revealed that without the vote of several thousand dead voters in Chicago, Richard Nixon would have won enough electoral votes to take the presidential elections. A thorough study of history reveals that that was the height of the Democrat Party and the slide to oblivion had started.

I the mid 1960's, the Democrat Party became the Party of the left anti-war and lost to pro-war candidate, Richard Nixon, by a large majority. This angered the party so much that they turned to a total Anti-war candidate, George McGovern, which resulted in a landslide defeat. This was the first of many bad decisions that the party made.

The Party was near death at this point, however, Richard Nixon's missteps and corruption allowed for the election of the worst president in American history, Jimmy Carter, A Democrat. This was the second time that the Democrats had won an undeserved presidency after 1948, once by voter fraud, and now because of the actions of a sitting American President, a Republican.

Then, in 1992 , after twelve years of Republican presidency, with the Democrat party barely holding on to their majority in Congress by the toenails and have absolutely no chance for a Presidential victory, fate once again stepped in to save the party. Ross Perot, who hated President George H.W. Bush more than he loved the country, spent some three million dollars to run as an independent and cause President Bush the first,a Republican, to lose to the second worst president in history, William Jefferson (Bill) Clinton, a Democrat.

Let's review history of the Democratic party at this point. They had won three undeserved presidential elections since 1948, one by voter cheating, one by default, and won by meddling in the presidential election in 1992 by Ross Perot. They still held a majority in the Congress. This was about to change, big time.

In 1994, the American Public, who had been slowly moving to the right 1964, swept all apposed incumbent democrat congressmen out of office. At the same time the Senate was taken over by the Republicans. This was the death knell of the Democrat Party, even though, they hung on for 18 more years as a somewhat viable party.

President Bush, a Republica, won the Presidential Election in 2000, after a dirty fight with the Florida Supreme Court forced the SCOTUS to stop the Democrat machine from trying to steal the Electoral Majority from President Bush. This left a real bad taste for the Democrats for the majority of Americans, but caused the rabid Democrat partisans, who would later be called "Moonbats" to eat through their own forehead and perform a lemming like jump off the political cliff.

In 2006, the Democrats squandered an opportunity to win back at least the House by allowing the Netroots radicals, such as Move-on.0rg and KOS to take over the party. These Nutroots forgot what had happened in 1972 to the Anti-war Party, were convinced that their current Anti-War position would win the majority back in both House of congress by voting against any member of Congress who supported the Iraq war, pushed Joseph Lieberman aside and defeated him in the Democrat Primary. Mr. Lieberman, then ran as an Independent and won the Senate seat in connecticut. Mr. Lieberman was so incenssed by his treatment of fellow Democrats and said, in his acceptance speech: "The Demcrat Party can go to hell and I am caucasing with the Republicans. This so enraged the Anti-war Netroots to elect Cindy Sheehan as the Party Chairman. It has since been revealed that Ms. Sheehan was and had been mentally ill for some time. Of Course, the Democrats lost the Congressional Elections in 2006 and then Hilliary Clinton, a Democrat, lost the Presidential Election in 2008 by a huge margin, being the only time in Presidential Election history that a candidate did not win a single state.

So, today, Ms. Sheehan, wearing a straightjacket and surrounded by nurses, tearfully bid goodby to both her party and her sanity.

It is over for the Democrat Party. It had been barely living since 1952. The party did not even die with their boots on. May the Party of Peacniks RIP!!!

TAKE YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SAND, AMERICA

It is still surreal to reread the fantasies of Chamberlain, Daladier, and Pope Pius, or the stump speeches by Charles Lindbergh (“Their [the Jews’] greatest danger to this country lies in their large ownership and influence in our motion pictures, our press, our radio, and our government”) or Father Coughlin (“Many people are beginning to wonder whom they should fear most — the Roosevelt-Churchill combination or the Hitler-Mussolini combination.”) — and baffling to consider that such men ever had any influence.

2. It is now nearly five years since jihadists from the Arab world left a crater in Manhattan and ignited the Pentagon. Apart from the frontline in Iraq, the United States and NATO have troops battling the Islamic fascists in Afghanistan. European police scramble daily to avoid another London or Madrid train bombing. The French, Dutch, and Danish governments are worried that a sizable number of Muslim immigrants inside their countries are not assimilating, and, more worrisome, are starting to demand that their hosts alter their liberal values to accommodate radical Islam. It is apparently not safe for Australians in Bali, and a Jew alone in any Arab nation would have to be discreet — and perhaps now in France or Sweden as well. Canadians’ past opposition to the Iraq war, and their empathy for the Palestinians, earned no reprieve, if we can believe that Islamists were caught plotting to behead their prime minister. Russians have been blown up by Muslim Chechnyans from Moscow to Beslan. India is routinely attacked by Islamic terrorists. An elected Lebanese minister must keep in mind that a Hezbollah or Syrian terrorist — not an Israeli bomb — might kill him if he utters a wrong word. The only mystery here in the United States is which target the jihadists want to destroy first: the Holland Tunnel in New York or the Sears Tower in Chicago.

3. These past few days the inability of millions of Westerners, both here and in Europe, to condemn fascist terrorists who start wars, spread racial hatred, and despise Western democracies is the real story, not the “quarter-ton” Israeli bombs that inadvertently hit civilians in Lebanon who live among rocket launchers that send missiles into Israeli cities and suburbs.

Yes, perhaps Israel should have hit more quickly, harder, and on the ground; yes, it has run an inept public relations campaign; yes, to these criticisms and more. But what is lost sight of is the central moral issue of our times: a humane democracy mired in an asymmetrical war is trying to protect itself against terrorists from the 7^thcentury, while under the scrutiny of a corrupt world that needs oil, is largely anti-Semitic and deathly afraid of Islamic terrorists, and finds psychic enjoyment in seeing successful Western societies under duress.

In short, if we wish to learn what was going on in Europe in 1938, just look around.

Mr. Hanson, as usual, has it exactly right. This is 1938 all over again!!. How long can we as a country ignore what is going on throughout the Middle East. We have problems with support of our oun country's involvement in Iraq.

We cannot simply ignore 1/3 of the worlds population who wish us dead, and pretend it will go away. We must, as a country stand up and shout with one voice: We will support Israel and fight Islamic Terror everywhere.

NOW SILLINESS FROM THE LAMONT CAMPAIGN

MORE JIMMY CARTER SILLINESS

Jimmy Carter says it's "inhumane and counterproductive" for Israel "to punish civilian populations" for Hezbollah's aggression. If you hadn't helped overthrow the Shah of Iran, Jimmy, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Our former president made this statement in a Washington Post op-ed in which the man who helped midwife the habitat for inhumanity that is Iran spouted the standard liberal dogma about cease-fires and something called "lasting peace."

He forgets that Hezbollah is the spawn of Iran, and Iran is the spawn of his failed foreign policy. Carter, upon taking office in 1977, declared that advancing "human rights" was among his highest priorities. America's ally, the Shah of Iran, was one of his first targets, with Carter chastising him for his human rights record and withdrawing America's support.

When Ayatollah Khomeini overthrew the shah in February 1979, he established the first modern Islamofascist regime, a role model for the Taliban and the jihadists to follow, such as al-Qaida and Hezbollah.

I could not agree more with this correct assessment of history.

The following exerpt from this article talks about the violations of the Geneva Convention that Hezbollah are violating:

Hezbollah is violating Article 58 of Protocol 1 of the Geneva Conventions, which requires parties to a conflict to "avoid locating military objectives within or near densely populated areas." Hezbollah uses civilian homes and neighborhoods to store and launch rockets.

Article 28 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: "The presence of a protected person may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations." This means that the building in Qana where Hezbollah was hiding its launchers was a legitimate military target.

Article 37 of Protocol 1, ratified in 1979, says: "It is prohibited to kill, injure or capture an adversary by resort to perfidy." It lists three types of perfidy; the third is "the feigning of civilian, noncombatant status." That is what Hezbollah does when it disguises its fighters as civilians and hides and launches missiles in Qana and elsewhere.

Open Letter to Jimmy Carter: These are the people you expect to negotiate a lasting peace with?. You are truly an ignorant idealist, and it would be wise for you to keep your mouth shut. Go shell some peanuts or run the gas station (presuming you are intelligent enough to do that), and leave the world's problems to those who are capable and willing to face the problem of terrorism head on. Go Away. Good luck in your retirement.

It is interesting to note that one reporter decided to report the law suit against the Democrat Mutha for defamation of character by putting it in the very last paragraph, after claiming in the headlines that the marines may be implicated here. Notice that the article says may. It could have easily said "may not". This is pure speculation by the reporter who names to unnamed sources from the DOD. Never, ever trust unnamed sources.

"HADITHA MARINE" IS SUING DEMOCRAT CONGRESSMAN MURTHA FOR DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER

Read this article which is breaking news. The accused Marine is suing Congressman Murtha for defamation of character.

I have previously posted about the "Haditha hoax", in which the Democrat Congressman John Murtha pronounced Marines as cold blooded murderers. This accusation was made after a Time Magazine reporter claimed that during an operation last year at Haditha, Iraq, eight marines used improper methods when encountering terrorists. Several "civilians" were killed when they cleared out a house in which the terrorists were hiding and firing at the Marines from, after a Marine had been killed by an IED explosive. The information that was fed to the reporter has been tainted and is thought to be deliberately false. Congressman Murtha was briefed by a Marine Commander and made conclusions which are wrong. He is now blaming the briefer.

I have repeatedly called for Murtha to apologize personnaly to each of these Marine"s, after running to the microphones and making his accusations before there was a complete investigation. One investigation has been completed and found no improper actions by these Marines. There is still another investigation ongoing by NCIS, but, since I am a betting man, I would bet that the last one will show no improper action by the Marines.

I was the first to call this a "hoax", planned by Anti-American Iraqi's and aided by ignorant reporters at Time Magazine.

Today I am going to be the first to call for Democrat John Murtha's resignation after the apology.
This old fool, a retired Marine who should know about "death before dishonor" has dishonered himself and should no longer be allowed to represent his constituants.

World opinion has not saved one life, nor has it stopped a war or solved any problem. Everybody has an opinion. The more people who share that opinion doesn't make that opinion right.

During the past 50 years, World opinion has been shaped by the major news outlets. The recent successes of Talk Radio and Bloggers have been able to blunt the influence of major news media, but it is still powerful, as witnessed this weekend with the slanted, biased reporting of the incident at Qana.

We must be tirelessly diligent in our efforts to get unbiased messages out to the world.

Tim Russert even showed a map of Israeli airstikes throughout Lebanon (published by no other than the Lebanese government) and blamed Israel for attacking the north. He failed to inform his audience that after 25 years of Hizbollah occupation they are obviously spread out all over every inch of that country. I guess this is too much for a liberal Jew hater to understand.

Most of all, these sewer rats fail to mention that their reporting of these events are the very reason why the terrorists use civilians as human shields. They know that the liberals will broadcast their cause around the world and stir up hatred for Israel and Jews. Thus, the liberal media is the root cause for civilian deaths both in Israel and Lebanon. Without their presence in Lebanon, Hizbollah would have no purpose of blocking civilians from leaving.

One last thought from the Sunday talk shows. Thomas Freedmen was on with Tim Russert today to trash Israel for “continuing” the war, eventhough it is the terrorists who are continuing the war with their rockets. I will not even attempt with the adjectives to describe Freedman because he is the lowest creature on earth. This terrorists loving, American hating, Jewish traitor was put on the screen unopposed to serve as a spokesperson for the “Jewish community” to side with the enemy. This is a typical tactic of the liberal, anti Semitic media. They will never have on right wing Jews like Mort Klein or Charles Krauthammer. They won’t even have on the liberal Alan Dershowitz because he is no longer siding with the enemy. He used to be the hero of the liberal media as long as he was trashing Jews. Now that he has repented slightly, he has been completely thrown off the plantation and never receives an invitation for a talk show.

The Democrats in the Senate are dead set against the appointment and will even attempt to filibuster it. Why?

For the last 12 years, The Democrats have watched as each of their bastions of influence have been dismantled one by one. First, there was the legislative majority, of which was dismantled in 1994; Second, there was the loss of the Presidency; third was the tipping of the Supreme Court to the right with President Bush's two appointments this year, with another appointment immanent; fourth, and finally, the loss of the UN as their weapon to inflict their liberal agenda on the world.

John Bolton is probably the most effective appointment to the UN chair in the last 50 years. He has already had a great impact with the unveiling of the UN's corruption. He constantly makes an ass of the UN and it's ineffective programs, the last one being the peace accord between Israel and Lebanon. He has a chance to totally reform the UN or break the UN. That is precisely why the Democrats are willing to put their head on the chopping block to obstruct this permanent appointment.

TODAY, WE ARE ALL ISRAELI

There has been a strange twist in the latest war between Israel and Terrorists. In the past, CNN would run Christiane Amanpour over to the terrorist side and show any and all suffering of women, children, old men, young men, camels and donkeys and of course, terrorists themselves. The rest of the world, including American Democrats, would then howl with rage over the actions the meany Israeli's were taking. The ever feckless UN would quake with dissaproval. European Union members would weep for the "poor' terrorists and their plite. The American President would rush the Secretary of State over there to force a quick end to the Israeli actions. Dick Morris has an great article this morning which tell us how the Impeached President Bill Clinton stabbed the Israeli's in the back in 1996 here

What is different now. First, CNN does not have a monopoly on the news. While they certainly went back to the old playbook and rushed the ever available Chrisitane Amanpour to Lebanon and were duped into showing a propaganda piece for Hezballah, FOX was in Israel showing the suffering of the Israeli's. Second, The European Union has mostly been silent. Third, the President of the United States did not immeidately send Condi Rice over there to quell the violence, but instead stood up at a world meeting of the G8 and told the world that he supported Israel's right to defend itself and was in no hurry to stop the Israeli attacks on the terrorists.

The world, specifically, the United States recognizes that the Israeli's are fighting the same enemies in Iraq, Afghanistan and other parts of the world. We have recognized that this is part of the Global War on Terror. The American populace is behind Israel on this one (except, of course, the Democrats in Congress).

Two very important things are happening this week on the Israeli/Lebanon border: Hezballah (hezbullies) are being killed. Perhaps as important the total loss on what little credibility the United Nations may have had.

You remember the UN, don't you? They are the ones who passed 17 resolutions against Saddam Hussein and then would not take any action to enforce any of them. This great organization (sarcasm) is also the one who gauranteed the peace for Israel in another resolution: 1559 (formerly 425), and numerous other ones with the same title. All had the same result, war and casualties on every side. Also consider their great work in the Sudan and currently, Dufar.

It is the second worst nightmare for Democrats. (Their first is one more Supreme Court Justice).

Witness their non-stop campaign against John Bolton last year. The Liberals have used the UN to get all kinds of silly social engineering worldwide such as Birth Control, Abortion and Kyoto,DDT, all with the same disastrous results. Now it is almost a sure thing that John Bolton will be confirmed as Permanant UN ambassador. He has already succeeded in exposing the UN perfidities and the uslessness of the Organization.

The John Bircher's weren't wrong about everything. Remember their slogan which infuriated liberals: GET THE U.S. OUT OF THE UN.

It is time for the Republicans to carry that slogan to fruition. As a matter of fact, I, for one, Demand it.

Hezbellah bit off more than they can chew when they started this war with Israel by lobbing bombs into Israel and kidnapping two soldiers. Things must not be going well in Gaza either as talks of ceasefire are coming from there.

Historically, when terrorists ask for a ceasefire, then you know that the Israeli's are killing them by the numbers and the world (UN) condemned Isreal. Of course, the purpose of the request for cease-fire would only be to allow the terrorists to re-arm and start the war over again.

Two things are different this time around:

First, mostly, the news media is actually playing this straight, instead of just blaming Israel. My theory is because, in the past, the Palestinians and Hezballah were percieved as having no weapons and were only throwing rocks at the Isreali's. Now that are rocketing Isreali towns with rockets instead of rocks and are seen as strong instead of being "poor" and "oppressed". In the past skirmishes, CNN would run to Palestine and show bombed building and the suffering of the terrorist sympathizers. Now they are counterbalanced by the other news networks showing suffering on both sides.

Secondly, the terrorists are being backed openly by Iran and Syria, both terrorist nations. This is causing the usual Arab sympathizers to withold support for the terrorist's actions.

This is not going as Iran and Syria had planned.

Israel has been bitten several times by these "ceasefires" and are intent on inflicting severe punishing the terrorists and depriving them the means to just re-arm and do this all over again.
It appears the Israeli's are prepared to take this to the logical conclusion and rid this part of the world of Hezballah and Hamas terrorists.

UN=FAILURE

This morning, Oak leaf posted a topic thread on polipundit called "A 28 Year UN Failure, UNIFIL. " You can go here to read it. The article talks about the failure of the UN to keep lebanon and UN forces on the Israeli border, Codenamed UNIFIL.

After I commented that it should be called UNIFAIL, he changed the title to "A 28 Year UN Failure, Is It UNIFIL or UNIFAIL? " That prompted me to write a this article listing the failures of the United Nations. This is not a complete list, because it would take too much space to do so.

I will start with Korea. In 1950, Communist North Korea crossed the 38th parallel and attacked the UN forces in South Korea. War, under the auspices of the UN insued, which brought us a typical UN result. A cease fire was orchestrated by the UN and is still going on today in Pyongyang, Korea. We have been meeting daily since 1952 and it still goes on today. Lately, it is mostly meetings arguing over the height of the table at which they sit.

They impede or war in Iraq, claiming diplomacy and inspections are the only answer. At the same time, they refuse to discuss the North Korea's brazen moves.

U.N. ignores more human rights abuses. This time in Iran.

U.N. takes over in East Timor, and then drops the ball leading to further violence and anarchy.

Remember those Buddist statues in Afghanistan that the Taliban destroyed? Well, you guessed it. The U.N. failed to save them.

The U.N. fails to protect those displaced by a civil war in Angola.

That's right. The U.N. failed in Kashmir, too.

The U.N. failed in Somalia.

The U.N. failed in Bosnia.

The U.N. failed in Israel.

The U.N. failed in Columbia.

The U. N. failed in Iraq.

Bottom line, the U.N. is a failure, and it is time to dissolve that money sucking waste of time and energy. Anyone who would defend such a utter failure is just as inept as that political body. It takes a certain kind. Somebody must either have a perverse view of human kindness, or a sick sense of humor, if they still place any credibility in the U.N.

The roots of these problems must be examined on two levels.

First, UN institutional failures have allowed the body to serve as a useful tool for legitimizing an anti-Israel agenda. The task force recognized that the UN cannot presume to be an arbiter of international human rights and justice when Israel is excluded from serving on any regional grouping in Geneva. This means Israel can never serve on the Security Council, an Israeli judge can never be elected to the International Court of Justice, and Israel cannot even vote on the makeup of the court.

Furthermore, the UN does not assess the human rights records of members as a prerequisite to serving on its Human Rights Commission. It is not surprising that without any mechanism to protect the commission from being manipulated by routine human rights violators, countries such as Cuba, Syria, Iran, Zimbabwe and Sudan have all served on the panel.

There is no legitimate basis for allowing a rogue dictatorship such as Syria to sit on the UN Security Council while the only current functioning democracy in the Middle East is denied representation. Likewise, there is no legitimate basis for allowing Sudan to stand in judgment of Israel's human rights record.

Second, the task force recognized that UN failures are most often the result of the efforts of the individual member states themselves, rather than its institutions. This inherent limitation is not subject to traditional "reform." Any organization that has no democratic preconditions for membership and provides a platform in which democratic interests are combined with those of non-democracies will likely remain an imperfect institution.

Another exerpt from same article gives the simple solution to this problem:

Effective and deep reform can only result if there is a coalition of democracies, led by the United States, that want to create a new accountable, transparent, effective, and honest UN that would treat Israel with respect and equality, will stand up for Israel's right to defend itself, and will act effectively against state sponsors of terrorism.

Only a coalition of genuine democracies can explicitly and consistently reject any effort in the UN General Assembly, in special conferences and meetings, and in any UN organization to adopt rules, treaties and systems, which seek to legitimize an anti-Israel agenda.

Similarly, only a coalition of genuine democracies can move to adopt a comprehensive definition of terrorism that is not manipulated by the very states that are themselves supporting homicide bombers. The US and democratic nations must understand that this would legitimize the use of terror in Israel, as well as in Iraq, New York, London, Madrid and elsewhere.

Why are U.S. taxpayers still contributing to this useless organization?

These are words of war. These are not idle threats. What else can we take from their words and actions Iran has taken to develop a Nuclear weapon. Sorry, there is no other way to describe their words.

I recieved an e-mail today from Newt Gingrich, who has been trying to tell us that we in World War III. Newt explained some of the things we are going to have to do to win this war.

Like him, we must be clear in our thoughts, candid in our words, and rock solid in our resolve. It is up to us first to prove that in this Third World War "words are actions." I, for one think that Newt Gingrich is right. The sooner we, as a country, recognized the fact, the quicker we can mobilize and win this thing. Waiting is only going to make winning the war more costly in lives and money.

The Dean-Dodd claim that the Democrats, through their tireless efforts, would have prevented this war ignores the fact that the efforts that the Dems have (and would have) engaged in are not reasonably calculated to prevent war in the Middle East. Under President Clinton, the Dems attempted to push Israel into making territorial concessions. Indeed, the concession that led to Hezbollah's ability to strike deep into Israeli terrority with missiles and that emboldened Hezbollah to start a war with Israel(Israel's pull-out from Lebanon) occurred during the Clinton administration. This doesn't mean that the Democrats are to blame for the war. First, Israel had the option of not making territorial concessions. Second, the Bush administration too has encouraged Israel to "take risks for peace" -- our policy towards Israel contains bi-partisan flaws. Third, the blame in any case resides with Hezbollah, Syria, and Iran, not the U.S. But the fact remains that Clinton's policies for preventing war were profoundly misguided in ways that are material to the current crisis. Under these circumstances, it is disgraceful for the Dems to blame the war on President Bush.

How does one kill something that was never alive to start with?

This must be the joke of the day. The Middle East has not seen peace since Abraham sired a baby on his slave, Hagar, and begot Ishmael. This was after God had told Abraham that he would allow Sarah to have a child and Isaac was later born of Abraham and Sarah. That is where the trouble started and has been going on ever since. God told Abraham he would make a great nation from both Ishmael and Isaac, and he was true to this word. Ismael fathered the Arabs and Isaac fathered the Jews, and they have been fighting battles over this most worthless of all areas on the earth for well over two thousand years.

While I am not a theologian, I am convinced that God has a sense of humor. He spread the Jews over the world and made them the most prosperous of peoples, while he left the Arabs to eke out a living in this almost inhabitable region. All was well until oil was discovered on this worthless outpost of poverty and ignorance. God, I think, sat back and said to himself, this is going to be interesting. So what has emerged in this region is a race of people who are ignorant of the rest of the world, but hold the keys to prosperity in the world. Naturally, this has caused even more tension than normal in this part of the world. Adding to that mix, the Jews decided they would take back the land for which God had set aside for them. It has proved to be a volatile mix.

This was a mostly regional conflict and mostly confined to that part of the world. Adding to the already volatile mix, the audacity of President Bush, who decided that the Middle East needed at least two more democracies, Afghanistan and Iraq. This has caused a huge backlash by the Arab countries who have no stake in democracy. Up jumped Iran, who does not want a country friendly to the Great Satan (U.S.) next door to them. It makes them very nervous. Because they are a nervous nation, the have decided to stir up trouble not only in Iraq, but also between Israel and the Refugees occupying the land adjactent to them. Israel has taken umbridge to Iran's (with the help of Syria) meddling in their affairs.

Israel is doing the work that the West should be doing and will, somewhat reluctantly, have to eventually do.

Make no mistake, this is the "end of the beginning" of WWIII, to borrow a phrase from Winston Churchill who said this after the disaster at Dunkirk in 1940.

World politicians message to Israel: Lets talk! Talk!! Talk!!! TALK!!!!

If memory serves, isn't this what got us into this situation to start with?. Since 1950, the UN has talked this situation to death, mostly by talking to Israel and not the other parties to this aggression. The result of all this talk was war in 1967 and 1973, in which Isreal demolished its e Arab neighbors and grabbed the West Bank and Gaza in the process. The world started talking again to Isreal (only). Give up the occupied territories.

In 98, then President in name only, Bill Clinton gathered Arafat and Israeli PMBarak together at Camp David and Talked!, Talked!! Talked!!! and Talked!!!! Arafat talked until he discovered that any decisions would bring peace to the region. Then he quit talking. This resulted in a four year war of attrition on both sides. The world continued to talk, to Isreal (only).

President Bush and Tony Blair declared that Palestine should have it's own country, then continued to Talk!, Talk!! Talk!!! talk!!!! Finally, Isreal listened and gave up it's occupied terratories in Gaza and most of the West Bank. This resulted in the Palestinians electing a terrorist government. They moved into Gaza, from which they started shelling Israeli's.

Today Israel is speaking, as apposed to talking.

The talking has ended, War is the result of all this talking.

I for one like the way Isreal is speaking and the rest of the world can go to hell!!!

Since I quit watching TV "news" broadcast, life is good. I noticed that I watched the Sun come up this morning. I noticed that the Memsahib had made a "honey do" list and even looked at it!! If I was not so busy blogging, I would have started on some of them.

I don't know who the world hates more, the U.S. or Isreal. I guess, either way, both are in good company!!!

Many thanks to my very good friends at HangRightPolitics, Polipundit, Falcons Crest, and My Two Cents for faithfully linking to my Posts on this page. My viewership has gone up to 5 times what it was.

I did indeed become aware of all the news this morning by viewing the several web pages I mentioned in yesterday's column here and found it that it is much preferrable and informative than listen to some talking head read a news prompter.

Don't try to repair an Icemaker in your Refrigerator. It is much easier to buy a new one.

All the liberals who I was convinced were idiots yesterday, are still idiots today.

I was the 14,000,000 visitor to Polipundit today. I won a new Lexus (not really). I am proud to contribute to their thoughtful posts as well as the others I mentioned above.

The Wilson's (Plames?) are suing Rove and Cheney. If this were a just world, the judge would require them to give all the money they have made by becoming liberal celebrities to a charity , after they lose. Rumor has it that Chris Matthew will sue Rove and Cheney for making him act like a raving lunatic on his "Hardbull" show.

Is southern Lebonan still on the map. If it is, too bad.

I HAVE NO REASON TO EVER WATCH A "NEWS" CAST AGAIN

I am disgusted.

I am demoralized.

I am disheartened.

I am angry.

I have pointed out twice in the last 24 hours, here and here that Robert Novak said that he learned Valerie Plame's name by reasearching "Who's Who". A simple google search reveals her as the wife of that idiot, Joseph Charles Wilson.

I watched in fascination tonight as Novak was interviewed by none other than Fox News, Brit Hume. I became dejected as it became abundantly clear that Brit was not even going near this revelation. I had long since sworn off the Alphabet Networks, CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the Left Wing Media mouthpieces. Fox News was the only outlet left to me for serious news.

But no more. Fox News is better than the other networks, but not by much. The major news media have managed to bury Novak's revelation. OK, I have decided to bury them.

I will get my news from the internet, where it is mostly unfiltered. I can read polipundit, HangRightPolitics, Powerline,Falcon's Crest,Hugh Hewitt, Instapundit, Ankle Biting Pundits, Pajama's Media, Michelle Malkin, Lucianne,Newsmax, Townhall and several other good web pages. I can find out more news in 5 minutes than I can get all day from the major news services. All have great links to other news articles.

Since I no longer need the news networks for anything, I can only say Goodbye and Good Riddance.

Following my interview with the primary source, I sought out the second administration official and the CIA spokesman for confirmation. I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in "Who's Who in America."

I considered his wife's role in initiating Wilson's mission, later confirmed by the Senate Intelligence Committee, to be a previously undisclosed part of an important news story. I reported it on that basis.

I have read several articles this morning from the major wire services, and not one of them mentioned the first paragraph of his article. All of them pointed to Karl Rove's conversation when Novak called him to confirm her identity. We knew all of this, however, the MSM is treating this as big news.

What is poor Chris Matthews to do? In what has become a nightly news (so-called) show called "Hardball", he has devoted his whole program on trying to convict Karl Rove or Dick Cheney of leaking the name of Valerie Plame. Now it appears that he was wrong and the leaker was none other than Joe Wilson himself. This was revealed today by Robert Novak today, see his release here" on the Drudge Report.

In a related article on Sweetness and Light web page, there is an interesting statement as from Novak as follows:

In my sworn testimony, I said what I have contended in my columns and on television: Joe Wilson’s wife’s role in instituting her husband’s mission was revealed to me in the middle of a long interview with an official who I have previously said was not a political gunslinger. After the federal investigation was announced, he told me through a third party that the disclosure was inadvertent on his part.

What will Chris Matthew do now? Who knows, he has not had a life since this became a major issue. Maybe he will take a couple of weeks of from his little watched show and visit with his wife and Kids.

In a just universe, his program will be canceled after a sincere apology to Mr. Rove and Mr. Cheney.

HADITHA: NOTHING THERE SO LETS BLAME SOME OFFICERS FOR NEGLECT

Today's article in the New York times, while not being able to find any fault with the operation at Haditha, still managed to find at least two "John Murtha Kerry" types to "leak" that there were some discrepancies in the investigative questions. Today's Powerline web site has details here here.

My friend, Herschel Smith, over at Captains Journal has been writing for a couple of weeks now of the new strategy being put into play by the terrorists: Create some atrocities and blame it on U.S. forces. His article is here.

Our enemy in the Global War on Terror has learned to play the American News Media like a well worn fiddle. Report an atrocity, attribute it to American forces, then sit back and watch the gullible news media "expose" the story with very little, if any, factchecking.

This tactic worked well at Haditha. Time Magazine and Newsweek Magazine splashed the incident on their front pages in June of this year. After much factchecking by the blogosphere, it appears that the whole thing is a hoax, as I said in my original article.

The Major News Media (MSM)will have plenty of egg on it's face when the truth comes out. They know this and are already trying to blunt the harsh criticism which will follow by quoting any source at all to find someone, anyone to blame for their stupidity. The story line now appears to be: "lets hang some officers", by claiming to know what was in a confidential report and that the officers were deficient in their questioning of the Marines involved. According to their new tack: There may have nothing which was out of line or regulation which happened at Haditha, but there has to be something wrong and someone must be blamed, otherwise the media will be blamed.

Congressman John Murtha has already called the Marines involved "Cold Blooded Murderers" and will most likely be censured by the House when all is said and done. That is the least that should happen to the old fool.

I find it hard to believe that the American Public is dumb enough to be duped by the News Media, but there at least 40% of the voting populace who is willing to believe anything the media says so long as it hurts President Bush.

It will be interesting to see how the Haditha Incident plays out and whether the News Media will be held accountable if the accusations against the Marines were a hoax. It will probably be ignored by the major media outlets, but it will not be ignored here and on thousands of other web pages.

NORTH KOREA: LET DIPLOMACY WORK (IF ONLY IT WOULD)

The fans of the United Nations (Liberals of all stripes) keep telling us how important the UN is to world peace and wring their hands when any petty dictator decides he wants to thumb his nose at the world. Most recently, Kim Jong Il, the petty dictator of North Korea launched 7 missiles in the general direction of the Sea of Japan. The UN is all atwitter. They are already threatening to have a meeting which would require a commission to decide whether to have another meeting which would require a special study to decide whether to have another meeting to vote for a draft letter to have another meeting whether or not to issue a statment about this issue.

Oh, how the willing dupes of world peace will fawn over the great diplomatic efforts of the UN in the coming weeks, while all the time, North Korea will launch still more missiles in the general direction of the Sea of Japan. Let's all get together and sing Cumbaya!!.

The North Koreans are is shooting arrows (missiles) into the air and it will come down they know not where.There is just a chance that one of the missiles will land on South Korea or Japan.

If this happens, the treaty signed by all sane powers of the Pacific Rim, SEATO, will require military reprisal against North Korea.

While the western powers are busy turning North Korea into a vast wasteland, the UN will wring it's hands, the hollywood peaceniks will all hold hands and sing "We are the world" and will denounce those meanies of the Western World, specifically the United States.

Isn't diplomacy wonderful. Ok, now, let us all sing another verse of Cumbaya.

AXIS OF EVIL: IRAQ, IRAN, NORTH KOREA

PRESIDENT BUSH STATE OF THE UNION REVISITED:

Here is the exerpt from the President's State of the Union Speech, Jan 29, 2002

North Korea is a regime arming with missiles and weapons of mass destruction, while starving its citizens.

Iran aggressively pursues these weapons and exports terror, while an unelected few repress the Iranian people's hope for freedom.

Iraq continues to flaunt its hostility toward America and to support terror. The Iraqi regime has plotted to develop anthrax, and nerve gas, and nuclear weapons for over a decade. This is a regime that has already used poison gas to murder thousands of its own citizens -- leaving the bodies of mothers huddled over their dead children. This is a regime that agreed to international inspections -- then kicked out the inspectors. This is a regime that has something to hide from the civilized world.

States like these, and their terrorist allies, constitute an axis of evil, arming to threaten the peace of the world. By seeking weapons of mass destruction, these regimes pose a grave and growing danger. They could provide these arms to terrorists, giving them the means to match their hatred. They could attack our allies or attempt to blackmail the United States. In any of these cases, the price of indifference would be catastrophic.

This speech from 2002 caused the liberals in Washington and their like-minded brethren in Europe to go into full panty twist. "How dare he", Warmonger", "Idiot Cowboy" were just some of the nicer things said about the President's speech.

President Bush warned that the world was an the brink of war and those regimes would stop at nothing to gain the advantage with the ultimate WMD: Nuclear Weapons.

Looking back with perfect hindsight, we now know that the President was exactly correct. What he did not say: Iraq has nuclear weapons. What he did say : Irag was trying to achieve nuclear capability. He also said the same for Iran and North Korea. Who was right, President Bush, or the liberals?

The president took preemptory action to stop Iraq's ability to gain nukes.

Recent events would lead one to assume that the liberals and their European brethren will now pay attention to the president and give him whatever he needs to quash the efforts of the other 2/3 of the Axis of Evil, Iran and North Korea.

One would think so, but I would not bet the house on it. Liberals in this country remain reticent to preemptory action even in the face of huge threats from these two countries.

President Bush will have to take action soon to stop the madness in those two countries. Will he have support of the country as a whole. Yes. Will he have the support of the Liberals. No. Here is betting we will take action soon and the same liberals will twist their panties into their nether regions and scream "foul". Is it because they do not want this to happen. No. It is because they hate President Bush so much that they would deny any preemption in order to thwart President Bush, even sacrifice the safety of the country to do so.

Let us see what the near future brings.

WHY JOHN KERRY WILL LOSE THE BATTLE WITH THE SWIFTIES AGAIN

It was a most interesting thread and you really should take the time to peruse through it.

One of the commentators, A Merle S. Adams started a dialogue with me (and serveral others) on the thread and I was struck by both it's sincerety, passion and his articulate explanation of courage and what real heroes say and do as apposed to phony heroes like John Kerry.

The following is the transcript. It has been edited for brevity, but the important content have been left intact:

"You can bet money that Kerry will never confront the Swift Boat Vets in open court. I think he has just about enough brains for that, and I know that he doesn’t have the guts to do so.

The other night Kerry was on the O’Reilly factor and as expected he showed that dual affliction that he was born with: Mental constipation and oral diarrhea. Bill gave him a lot of opportunity to acquit himself, but he mouthed the usual banalaties, i.e. he should have spoken out sooner etc. If he had ever been serious about absolving himself he would not be talking about it now. He is a fake, a phoney, and a fraud.

Who can forget his attempts during the campaign to make himself into someone young, vibrant, likeable, etc. and how he flopped in every case. Remember when he was in the NASA tunnel and came out looking like a bunny? He didn’t even have the brains to realize when he looked like a complete jerk. Remember when he blamed a SS man for falling on the ski slope? I am a skier of some consequence and I knew he was a phoney when I saw him on the slope in Colorado. He should have stayed in MA. They have more than enough to take care of him on skis.

His service is largely phoney in terms of being hazardous and this is vouchsafed by too many people who were there to discredit them. He thought he could get away with the fraud that Clinton perpetrated. It wasn’t that Clinton was smarter, it was that Kerry had the critics who were there and knew about him all the way up the chain of command.

These claims and counterclaims about service are mostly windowdressing. I don’t have any credentials for having assaulted a pill box, dropping into enemy territory, but I think I have some sense of being in the military and risk. I was in the Infantry a long time ago but by a fantastic series of circumstances, I was spared having my backside shot off. For anyone who knows ANYTHING about casualties, etc. the chances of seeing actual action in the U.S. armed forces is quite small. In WWII, there were about 10 to 11 men supporting in one way or another the man actually firing a rifle. They were all necessary, but to put that guy on the line and keep him supplied took a lot of logistics. If you look into who sustains the casualties in an Infantry Division you will find that riflemen sustain almost all (not all but a very high percentage) of the casualties and deaths. Medals mean little as all the support people get medals (theatre etc) even though they haven’t actually fired a shot. It isn’t their fault, that is the way it is. Even of those on the actual lines, a high percentage never fire their guns. S.L.Marshall found this out in WWII and Korea. He actually observed this and when it was published it created quite a sensation.

BE that as it may, I know from personal acquaintance with heroes that real heroes don’t brag about their accomplishments. In many cases they may have been heroes by accident or in spite of themselves. War is hell and fear is eveywhere at all times. I have known men who did great things(some got medals and some not) and almost uniformly they were modest or downright reluctant about talking about their heroics. So when I heard Kerry mouthing off about being in Viet Nam, I knew that he had lost huge numbers of votes. In the first place before he was revealed to be a phoney, his lack of class, etiquette, form, or what have you earned him the contempt of almost anyone who was in Viet Nam. I had a student ( I taught college) who was a tunnel rat( went into the tunnels to dig out the Viet Cong). I think I may have been the only man on the campus who knew of his heroics. I read the citations he garnered and I was thrilled to shake his hand and express my gratitude to him as an American. Kerry is a phoney and nothing can change that in retrospect. Just as Clinton was a draft dodger and a coward in addition to being a liar, nothing can give him a legacy other than the one he has already earned.

As for Bush. I challenge anyone to say with a straight face, that they would rather have Kerry or Clinton around them rather than George Bush. When you look into his eyes you know that there is one tough hombre. I would not have been surprised to have seen him go into the ruins of the towers on 9/11. YOu can poke fun at him from the sidelines, but I don’t suggest that you try it in person after he is out of office. He has something far more rare than physical courage and that is political courage where he never faces a person, but only slurs, lies, innuendoes etc. I learned that sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me. He has the faith and focus to bring off probably the greatest rescue of a civilization in the history of civilization. Those who still seek to hurt him are barking up a greased pole. If he retired today, his beating back the terrorists and the rescue of two countries (there will be more) he will rank with Churchill for having a vision and the guts to bring it about. You guys have been left at the station, wallowing in self pity and hate.

Republican Pundit: I thank you for the acknowledgement and may I thank you for the many excellent postings. You have thoughts worthy of any one’s consideration. Kudos to you and may you continue to make your presence felt here.

Harlan: I have not followed up on the work of Marshall vis a vis firing rates but will look into it. But since I was in the infantry, I took it for granted that all I had experienced in training held true for combat. When I found that someone had actually watched and counted and found a lot less than 100% I was surprised to say the least. I checked with a career Marine retiree (a close friend of 25 years) 10 minutes ago and he confirmed my original estimate of about 25%. Marshall was a British officer and historian and wrote widely about WWII and Korea. In any war or battle the majority of men do not even see the enemy, much less fire at them. Of course when you have a battle on a small atol or island like Iwo, the amount of men firing will be larger because they are noticeable for their action. However in large battles, such as Omaha or Salerno, a large number of men never see the enemy and the reason that so many do not fire is simply that they are keeping their heads down. You can ascertain this yourself by reading the Red Badge of Courage or War and Peace. Most of the time the battle is somewhere else. Statistics etc. dictate such to be the case. However, as an exercise if you are ever around WWII vets from Europe, ask what army they were with and they will answer Patton. You can easily fault them by asking what unit they were in and then you can check as to whether that outfit was with Patton’s third Army. They want to enjoy reflected glory, the rest of the Armies were equally good and worthy, they just did not have the public relations that Patton had. Everyone knew about Patton, almost no one ever heard of Hodges, Patch, Simpson etc.

Brian Billings: You are right about using SS to mean Secret Service. I erred. It is another example of a word or phrase appropriated from its original casting. That govt. function existed long before Hitler’s bully boys came on the scene.

I can never let the mention of such ingrates and slouches as Gore, Clinton, and Kerry to go unchallenged and being uttered in the same breath as true patriots and heroes. There is a penchant to decry another person when someone you might fancy as being something special. This sort of tactic was introduced into public life when Clinton came on the scene. Before that, it was unmanly to try to alibi yourself out of a situation by pointing out that someone else was no better. Clinton had nothing in his life history to point to as evidence of any of the higher virtues and early on in Arkansas he perfected the technique of intimidation, lying, vitriol, and any other scandalous technique to direct criticism away from him self. If it were pointed out that he was a liar, the reply would be : Did you never tell a lie? My answer as fast as I could get it out was: Yes I have told some little lies, but no one ever took the fall for me, I never lied to duck responsibility, etc. Lying is reprehensible and never to be condoned. If you lie with the full recognition that you are lying, then you have to some day to reckon with your maker. Occasionally I have lied to protect someone’s feelings, but never to duck responsibility. Now as far as heroes are concerned. I suggest that you take the name of these men vain when you suggest that Kerry was anything but a buffoon in the service. I have been laughing my back side off after being reminded of his wind surfing incident in Boston harbor. He railed to the meteorologist for not providing any wind when he wanted to show off on a surf board and it was deadly calm.

I have known people who fell under the yoke of the Reds from the Ukraine to the Crimea and to Viet Nam. It was hell the agony these people endured and I always go back to my friends who went from Bataan to Japan and Manchuria prisons and who never complained about the U.S. or being deserted by the U.S. in 1942. Where have these patriots gone that we hear these sniveling cowards complaining about our leaders when they have done pitifully little to secure this nation’s freedom. There are some people who think trafficking with the enemy will gain them some advantage. Our enemy has a name for these traitors. It is : Useful idiots. Those who betray their own will betray anyone they can . Loyalty is a high virtue and sometimes these postings show pitifully little of that. Your second post is even more profound than the first. I could not agree more. The word “hero” is passed around like candy in the press if the recipient of such praise is a Democrat. This, of course, cheapens the word.

You are correct about this also: True Heroes never tell you they are and mostly are embarrased when someone else call them that. In their mind, they were just doing their job and will quickly tell you that there were others who deserved more praise than they have. In fact, most Medal of Honor, DSM, Service Cross, Silver and Bronze Medal winners will never display their medals unless required to. Only cheap politicians like Kerry and Lyndon Johnson use this for political purposes.

The very idea that John Francois could ever be CIC is abhorrant to almost every veteran I know. It is bad enough that he is an ineffective Senator from Massachussetts, and I suppose the world would not end if he were president, but he can never be allowed to be CIC. That is why I contributed money and time to Swiftvets for Truth. I am ready to spend my time again, 24/7 to insure that a traitor to the country never become CIC. All others who were involved with Swiftvets are ready again to step forward and challenge him.

I had not intended to write again, but I have been puzzling about just how to phrase an E-Mail to India. When I get a block like this I will switch to something else as a change of pace.

Normally, I would be somewhat reluctant to wear my heart on my sleeve so to speak, but so much of this blather is afloat, that deep wellsprings of my love for this country have been tapped. I have sought out within limits to read the citations for the Congressional Medal of Honor and the Victoria Cross to try to get the feel even if vicariously of what went through a man’s mind and heart when doing a great deed. Someone said that when a man sacrifices their life for another it means that for an instant that man felt the universality of all men and that while his life was extinguished( from his body) it yet remained a part of the pool of universal energy that constitutes the totality of human beings. Without the firm conviction that we have an immortal soul, I think this is impossible. One can argue that it is reflexive, but I do not think so. The Trade Towers drew men back into the rubble time and again even to the point that many did not return. Civilian heroics are as grand as military ones and no less valorous. I recall the case during Reagan’s presidency when a plane crashed into the Potomac River in the winter time when the river was choked with ice. In the rescue work, one man ( I think names Skulnick(?) time and again pulled people to safety while he was slowly dying of hypothermia. He could have pulled back any time during a period of many minutes, but he did not do so and finally perished. He with deliberation and conscious intent stayed the course so that others would live. In the World Trade Towers, there was a man in charge of security for a large brokerage house who was responsible personally for I think several hundred people for a particular company. He would not desist from going back until each and every person for whom he felt responsible was safe. It is dreadful for me to have to write that he did not survive the ordeal.

So for these miscreants and cowards to traffic in vitriol and abuse is shameful and I dare say sinful. These people live mean and narrow lives and they really do not deserve the chance to belittle their betters. I used to have a friend whose career in the Army stopped at being a Colonel, i.e. he did not get his star because he was given an impossible task of maintaining order on Koje Island where North Korean prisoners were in a state of anarchy. He was not given the man power to restore order and was relieved. Others took over and with force restored order. He was never bitter, nor loved this country less and he had a regiment at the Rapido river crossing. I don’t need to expand upon that debacle. I would go to Indianapolis where he lived and we would talk geopolitics, military matters, etc. for a solid week. In the presence of this fine man, I drew inspiration from just how fine a man this country produced and still produces.

When Clinton came on the scene, I must say that I was ashamed that this country seated such a man in the White House where everything that most Americans hold sacred and of value was treated with either contempt or vulgarly regarded. I learned to be patient and when he was finally gone, and Bush and his wife took possession of the premises and restored dignity to the nations own home, I could not contain my joy at the deliverance. I enjoyed the victory a thousand times and did not go to bed until after dawn and downed more than my share of champaigne. I knew that Gore would never prevail, Bush was too tough and smart. When I hear of people lament about Clinton and his failure to live up to his potential, I say rubbish. He never had the brain power or integrity and decency to see this country through travail. We were saved by providence I believe from his clumsy efforts to be a leader. He thought this country’s place in the sun was a toy for his pleasure. He was not a man then and he is not a man now.

I contributed to the Swift Boat Vets before and I will be at the barricades again if that is required. I would almost hope that he would get the nomination again as I would love to see him crushed in not uncertain terms. I can’t think of any GOP that could not whip his backside.

Throughout history there is a small remnant from generation to generation that are called or are capable of answering the “call” to man the ramparts to lead and guide mankind from one debacle to another period of calm. Robert Henlein defined patriotism as : Women and children first” The ability to sacrifice one’s life for the next generation, the woman whose body is the vessel through which the next generation is conceived and delivered and the next generation that must be protected through to maturity.

I have written about horses rectums, but I can never equal my contempt and scorn of those people with equally noble sentiments for the very best of our kind. I can only say that I am proud to be a member of the same species that has and will always produce heroes.

"Merle. Your post 134 leaves me speechless and humbled. You have said in print everything I have been thinking since I read this morning that John Kerry was trying to attack the honor of those Officers who formed the Swiftvets for truth.

I have read John’Oniell and Jerome Corsi’s great book “Unfit for Command", where it talks of John Kerry’s lack of morals or principles, and was, indeed a traitor to our country. I can find no fault with the book and their recollections of what Kerry was up to. He was clearly gaming the system for political use later in his life. He is repeating this pattern now with his remarks and legislation trying to bemean our Servicemen and sour the country against the war.

When Bill Clinton was elected, I had a sick feeling in my stomach. He was a horrible president and a man with the morals of a tomcat in heat, but he was not nearly as dangerous as John Kerry.

Clinton just wanted to have a good time, while Kerry wants to destroy our military and the country.

The Swiftvets may rest assured that I will contribute again and will be on the threads there daily to keep Kerry from ever being President and Commander-in-chief of our military.

"Many times heroes live personally unhappy lives because sometimes the very qualities or abilities they had to perform great deeds worked against personal happiness. Audie Murphy was a fantastic hero, one of the greatest, but his personal life left much to be desired and he died a young man. Often heroes sacrifice for a greater good and neglect or do not seek personal happiness.

Your comments and corrections give me faith that the Clinton case will never happen again. There are too many guardians of our airwaves etc. for the stuff to get passed on as it was during the 90’s. The other day in the WSJ there was a piece of foolishness by John Podesta that will excite some sharp criticism as to its accuracy. His sycophants still try to put out the damn foolishness they did when he was in the White House. Now they can’t get away with it for more than minutes before it is all over the Internet.

Bet money that Kerry will never show his face in a court room and I can’t help but pray that he might the nomination again. He is a perfect counterweight to Hilary and I could think of nothing more delicious than to see a cat and dog fight between the two of them in the primaries. He has the money and perhaps he is invulnerable to any of their attempts to intimidate him for personal affairs. What could they dig up on him more embarrassing than his behavior in 2004?

Today's stunningly bad decision today to award "Geneva Convention" rights to the Terrorists at Gitmo sent a message to the Terrorists. That message is: WE ARE NOT ARE NOT PREPARED TO FIGHT THE GLOBAL WAR ON TERROR.

We are facing a brutal enemy who is not afraid to bomb women and children, cut off heads live on the internet,and destroy the very tenant of their supposedly revered religion. We in the United States and our Allies are not prepared to fight this war on their terms. In fact, all I have heard all day is how "We are better than that". Bullcrap!!!

We were not "better than that" when we dropped two atom bombs on Japan (that is not easy for me to say since the mother of my only grandchild is Japanese, and I love them both dearly). We faced a brutal enemy who was prepared to die to the last man and we did what had to be done to save millions of lives on both sides. We as a country recognized that fact and the President of the United States understood that when you fighting a brutal and determined enemy, you have to be willing to fight on his level.

We were not "better than that" when we, along with the British, firebombed Dresden.
For those of you who do not understand the term fire bomb, it quite simply can be defined as dropping enough bombs to light a fire so terrible that it sucks the air away and kills everyone in the area. The American Public understood the enemy and were willing for our leaders to take whatever action was necessary to bring Germany to it's knees.

Not so with the Global War on Terror. While our enemy are mutilating the bodies of our captured soldiers, our Supreme Court, aided by the ACLU, wrings their hands over whether we are mistreating the captured Terrorists by feeding them lemon chicken.

Our Marines are being arrested and charged with crimes for basically doing their duty. We cannot take the fight to the enemy until we understand how brutal the enemy is and decide that we are going to be just as brutal. We are going to have to adopt the "take no prisoners and give no quarter" attitude if we are going to come out of this War victorious. I have not seen anything yet from the leaders in our country which assures me that we are willing to do anything, pay any price for victory.

This is truly a clash of civilizations. When an enemy tells us he is going to kill us and our allies and even his own countrymen (Iraqi's) indiscriminantly and brutally, we need to understand that he means it and destroy them before he destroys us.

We must take the gloves off and start fighting our enemy in a serious manner and make him fear us so badly that he will lay down his arms and go back to his dirt hut, anything less is inviting another disaster like 9/11.

Damn the Geneva Convention. Damn the ACLU. Damn the United Nations. Damn the International Red Cross. Damn Amnesty International. Damn the American Major News Media. Damn policical correctness.

Once, again, we were reminded that the people we are fighting in Iraq are animals who abide by no civilized rules of warfare. While we are coddling the prisoners we have taken at Gitmo, and I have no doubt, elsewhere, the vermin who captured our two soldiers brutally torture ours.

I do not care at all what the people in the organization I damned at the start of this article say. I do not care how loud or often they complain about our handling of prisoners. We are fighting an enemy who does not care how they treat our prisoners. It is time the U.S. and Coalition forces take the kid gloves off.

Since our enemies have announced loud and clear that they have no intention of abiding by the Geneva Convention, we have no requirement to. Our enemies are not signees to the convention.
The U.S. has no obligation to treat our prisoners of war any better than they treat ours.

It is time to take the kinds of action we took in WWII. Wipe out major towns and villages that harbor these animals.

Oh, all the above damned organizations will wring their hands and complain about our military.
Let them. Who cares. The mission we are trying to accomplish in Iraq is important enough to indure these silly complaints. Our best ally in the world right now is probably Japan. President Truman had to make a horrible decision to unleash the power of this country to end that war, and he did it, thereby saving thousands, maybe millions of lives, both American and Japanese by doing so. Collateral damage is part of warfare and this is war, not a police action.

Our brave serviceman can defeat any enemy when the gloves are off. By doing so, we will save the lives of our servicemen and Iraqi's. Iraqi citizens are being slaughtered daily by these animals and this will continue until the enemy is wiped out. Taking action now that will cause the "damned" people to hyperventilate, but will save more lives in the longrun. Political Correctness is not respected by our enemy, indeed, it is scorned.

We must be bold. We must be determined. We must realease the dogs of war and damn the rest of the world if they do not like it.

The General charged with investigating whether Marines tried to cover up the killing of 24 civilians in Haditha has completed his report. The Investigating General, Maj. General Eldon Bargewell, concluded that there was no known coverup by Supervising Officers.

Brick one of the incindiary report in Time and Newsweek has been removed from the foundation of the story. More bricks have been loosened already by the great work of those linked to in the origonal story below.

Rep John Murtha (D) Pennsylvania has accused the Officers in a cover-up.

I demand an apology from John Murtha, and "Mahty" Meehan and nothing less. Their statement has already tarnished the Officers in charge of the Marines, and they were relieve from duty. lgf: Is the Haditha Story Falling Apart?

These fine authors stopped one step short of announcing that is a hoax.

I am going to go out on a limb and announce, that in my opinion, that the story is IN FACT a hoax, or, at the very least a very inaccurate portrayal of events which occurred on that day of November 20, 2005 in the terrorist hangout called Haditha, Iraq.

After reviewing all the information contained on the above sites, I can come to no other conclusion. What is my conclusion based on, you ask?

I am a retired USAF First Sergeant. I have been around American GI's for 20 years. There is one thing I can tell you without any reservation. There are no group of people more incapable of keeping their mouths shut for six months or more about an incident of this import. This would have happened in either a bar, a coffee shop, a barracks bull session, or even a visit to a Military Chaplain or Counselor. Unlike civilian clergy, military chaplains and lawyers are not bound by the code of secrecy, or at least, not to the degree their civilian counterparts are. They would be duty bound to report that a serious incident took place while keeping to their vow not to name names. This would have been reported to upper echelons quickly.

Or at least one and probably all of the marines would have been honor bound to report an incident of this magnitude to the First Sergeant, since those accused are enlisted, or to the Commanding Officer. That did not happen. Therefore, I can draw no other conclusion.

I am not accusing the author of the story published in Time Magazine or any other of the Mainstream Liberal Media of lying, but I will opine that they are the willing victim of a vicious campaign to harm our forces in Iraq. When this story proves to be false, or at least wildly exaggerated, they will be found to have jumped to a conclusion they wanted without sufficient fact checking.

Any of those reporters could have turned the information they had over to the nearest military authority and asked them to investigate the incident. As far as I know, none of them did this.

If I am right, this will be the most egregious act that the news media has perpetrated on the American Public in a very long time and will do tremendous harm to the major news media of this country.

I am betting I am correct and this will turn out to be a disastrous hoax.

The reaction of liberals to today's death of the horrible murderer Al-Zarqawi is disgusting.

Here is just one example of today's coverage. This is from Michael Berg, the father of Nich Berg (the fine young man who was beheaded live on television by Al zarqawi:

"I don't think that Zarqawi is himself responsible for the killings of hundreds of thousands of people in Iraq," Berg said in a combative television interview with the U.S. Fox News network. "I think George Bush is.

"George Bush is the one that invaded this country, George Bush is the one that destabilized it so that Zarqawi could get in, so that Zarqawi had a need to get in, to defend his region of the country from American invaders."

This is the most disgusting invective toward President George Bush and GWOT that I have seen to date.

I had great sympathy for Michael Berg and his family when this murder happened, but now that he has proven himself just to be another left wing nut who wants to use his son's death as an excuse to slam President Bush, I now have no sympathy for him.

Is this the state of the liberal world? Is there no depth to which they will sink in their hate of President George W. Bush. Is there no shame? Is there no Pride?

Democrats: don't start partying until the game is over

The much published breakup of the Republican Party by the democrat party is a bit premature.

There have been schisms by the score. The one that agrieves most me is the breakup of Polipundit, with Lorie Byrd and DJ Drummond no longer publishing on that site because of the illegal immigration issue. Seems they disagreed with Polipundit, who has become shrill and strident over this problem.

Polipundit was my favorite site because if allowed differences of opinion, both among the guest posters, such as Ms. Byrd and Mr. Drummond, and the commenters to the articles. Until the illegal immigration issue reared it's ugly head, this was a fun site and many regular posters there respected each other and were able to disagree with civility. That is no longer the case. Many friends were at each other's throats the past couple of weeks and that is a pity.

But before you democrats, especially those afflicted with Bush-Derangement-Syndrome start your celbebrating early, consider some facts:

1. Before the illegal immigration issue, most republicans agreed on 95% of all the major issues.
Sure, there are some who are disgusted with federal spending, however we never strayed from our belief that President Bush is a great president. Beware, we have not gone so far afield to thinking that democrats will be better. Be warned that we are not that removed from the second largest train wreck called the Clinton Presidency (The largest, of course, being the Jimmy Carter era). Simply because we are angry does not mean we are going to allow democrats to take over the congress. Ask any person on the street who knows anything at all about politics, when asked which party is weak on immigration, and they will tell you, without hesitation, it is the democrat party.

2. Republicans still are aware there is still a war on, and so does most of the American Public.
Ask the same person on the street which party is strong on the War on Terror and he or she will always say the Republicans.

3. Thanks to the Mc-Cain-Fiengold election reform bill (Which most Republicans apposed), the rules now favor the incumbents. The numbers are against the democrats. That is poetic justice.

We may, as Republicans, disagree on many issues, we have not forgotten who the democrat party is and what they stand for. Premature celebration may be something you will live to regret on November 8, 2006

The verdict handed down to this vermin is a verdict on the justice system of the United States.

It is an outrage which should spark a movement by the people of the country to return sanity to our court system.

I have long since stated that Adolph Hitler could not be convicted of murder in this country, let alone be given the death penalty.

If this man does not deserve the death penalty, then who ever will? This verdict is disgusting, but we as a country have allowed our court system to deteriorate to today's state.

What is the solution to this problem. First thing is stop the voir dire selection of jury members. Stop the insane practice of moving cases to a place where the defendent will get a better jury pool. Quit voting for Democrats so that liberal judges will no longer be on the courts.

I am both amazed and disgusted by the Democrats questioning of Attorney General Gonzales taking place today on C-SPAN concerning NSA surviellance.

I am amazed how politically stupid they are by even questioning whether or not President Bush should be using electronic intelligence to eavesdrop on suspected Al-Queada operatives. The American public has long since decided that eavesdropping on terrorists is not only expected, it is demanded. The American public has never been kind to a party who obstructs, or even appears to obstruct the gathering of intelligence on our enemies. The American public has consistently punished any party who is anti-intelligence gathering and anti-war. Example: 1972. Even though the public did not back the Vietnam war, they severely punished the Mcgovernite Democratic Party in the presidential Election of 1972.

What part of the landslide defeat of Democrats in 1972 do today's Democrats not understand? Joe Sixpack pays attention when national security is the question and consistently punishes those who are not strong on national defense. This is true because , ultimately, it is the Joe Sixpacks who do the fighting and dieing for this country, or, more importantly, has to convince the other guy to fight and die for his country. Joe Sixpack tends to vote more often when our national security is in question.

Even as we watch today's hearing of whether or not we should be spying on our enemies, the whole of the middle east is on fire from rioting Arabs who hate us and what we stand for: free speech.

It appears the Democrats hate President Bush and Conservatives so much that they will destroy the party while trying to hurt President Bush politically. This is the true picture of a party painting themselves into a corner.

I am amazed that they cannot see this and am disgusted because the country needs to have a loyal opposition, not a disloyal foe to our national security.

The post 9/11 Democrat Party is a square peg trying to fit itself into a round hole. The further they move to the left, the harder it becomes to fit itself to the mood of the electorate. The party is rapidly relegating itself to one of a third party status. The left have captured the party, leaving those of their electorate who want a strong national defense no choice but to leave the party. The party will soon split between the leftist and even moderates who can no longer stomach the party's commitment to the loonie left. Any split of the democrats further weakens the party. It will probably take a complete generation for the democrats to become a viable party again, if it ever does.

Turkey has a representative government. Part of a good representative is effective law and order, which Turkey certainly has. Turkey has an educated populace, but not as educated as Iraqians or Iranions. The difference is free elections.

I believe that Iraq is on the way to become a representative government. They will make some mistakes and have some serious setbacks, but will succeed in the long run.

The reason the Palestinian populace has very little chance of having a representative government is the ignorance of the populace. Effective governments have law and order, a thriving monetary system, and a good education system. This is sadly missing in the Palestinian controlled territories.

Other than Palestine, the rest of Islam can become democratic, once they throw out the Feudal systems of government. Turkey is a model for that system at this moment even if the populace is not Arabic. Iraq will become the model for the Arabic Nations.

Let's compare the situation between then and now:

In 1964, most Americans identified themselves as conservatives and at least half of those lived in the South and were solid democrats. Republicans at that time were the Wall Street and Park Avenue variety. FDR had co-opted the South with his New Deal programs and Social Security. He solidified the whole country during WWII. Eisenhower won the presidential election as a Republican, but he wasn't a long time party member.

Goldwater was both a social and fiscal Republican and disliked the government largesse created by FDR and to some extent, Ike. Even Kennedy was a conservative at the time. Goldwater knew that if he could get the south back into the Republican party, he could start rebuilding the party. The civil rights movement was just starting to reach it's zenith. The southern Democrats were very much anti-segregation and were not happy with the Democratic party and were looking for somewhere else to go. Although the Republican party was pro -integration and indeed passed most of the civil rights legislation, the southern Democrats were so upset that they started joining the Republican Party. Except for civil rights, the southern Democrats were in agreement with the Republican Party on most other programs. Since politics does indeed make strange bedfellows, the south started becoming conservative. This became an avalanche during the late sixties and seventies when the Democrats mistakenly sided with the anti-war crowd. By 1972, the Republicans were getting the presidential votes to lead Nixon to a landslide, mainly due to southern voters. At the same time the local governments in the south were still mainly Democrat, however, the terrible Carter presidency started to change that situation. By the time Reagan started to run for the Presidency, the perfect storm happened The southern Democrats suddenly turned Republican, while the rest of the country remained conservative. By 1994, the whole south had become Republican and all southern Democrats who had not switched were thrown out of office and replaced by Republicans. Suddenly there were more voters identifying themselves as Republicans than Democrats. This was the first time since the late twenties that this phenomenon had happened. Republicans have held congress since 1994, except for about a 10 month period in 1991 when Jumpin' Jim Jeffords gave the Democrats the majority for a short period of time. Now Republicans enjoy a substantial majority in both houses and, of course, the presidency.

The Kos crowd looks at what the conservatives did and hope to duplicate it. It will not happen. Only about 21% of Americans identify themselves as liberals. As they drive the party more to the left, any conservative Democrats who did not come over with Reagan will shortly become Republicans. There will be no conservative base. Because the lefties are so repugnant, most moderates will now become Republicans,or,at least vote that way.

The Kos revolution is dead before it gets started and will lead the Democratic Party to near oblivion. It will take years for the Democrats to get enough voters back to even consider themselves a viable party".

ELECTION 2000: WHAT IT WAS ALL ABOUT. APPOINTING SUPREME COURT JUSTICES

Lest we forget.

Why did the Democrats go to the wall with a futile attempt of overturning the election of 2000?
The right to name supreme court justices, of course. Why else would losers like Al Gore and the Florida Supreme Court push their preferences to the limit and force the supreme court to rule 7-2 in favor of return a defective judgement back to the Florida Supreme Court? Yes, that's right, 7-2. The news media has rewritten history to clammer and yell about a 5-4 ruling. The 5-4 ruling was to finally stop the nonsense and halt the whole process and allow Florida to cast their votes for President Bush, bypassing the Florida Supreme Court because of the time constraints for deciding the presidency.

Why put the country through the agony of November and December of 2000? The right to name Supreme Court justices, of course. The Democrats recognized that their agenda will never be approved at the voting booth. For 30 years, the legislative process had been hijacked by the liberals by getting their judges on the courts who would rule in their favor. The Democrats knew that the vote of Judge Roberts, Alito and possibly one other would come during the next four to eight years. They also knew that their chances were extremely slim of controlling the Senate during this period. They proved to be correct with the exception of another hijacking: Jumping Jim Jeffords defection which gave them Senate control for about 10 months.

The Democrats worst nightmare is playing out before their own eyes even as we speak.

Why are the Democrats employing every concievable or even inconcievable means to delay this vote even one day or one hour, hoping that something will save them from this awful fate? The right to name Supreme Court Justices, of course. Alas, for them, Judgement day is here, no pun intended. The 2000 election will finally be over late this week or early next week. Democrats will have then conceded this horrible truth. All is lost! All is lost!

Thank God!!! It is time .

DATELINE: NOV 8, 2008, DEMOCRATS LOSE AGAIN

Joel reveals the truth. Democrats do not support the troops. The real truth is that they have not supported the troops since 1967. They did not support the troop in 1972 and lost the presidential elections by the largest landslide in history. This article by John McIntyre suggests how the democrats walked right into a trap on the NSA wiretapping question. After walking into the trap, they continued to walk further from the trip line toward destruction. The American public recognizes the importance of surveillance during war time and approves of it, yet the democrats continue to harangue the Bush administration about it. They once again have exposed themselves to their anti-war, anti-military stance. The public does not like this stance and will continue to punish them for it.

Third article: RealClearPolitics - Commentary - Rove's Early Warning by E.J. Dionne

This is basically a reprint from Mr. Dionne's earlier article in today's Washington Post. I do not normally read anything written by Mr. Dionne, however, since this was reprinted by the folks at the Real Clear Politics web site, I read it and am in complete agreement with Mr. Dionne's hypothesus. The Democrats just don't get it. He complains that they don't really have a message and are being mugged by Karl Rove. He is right. They do not have a message and are truly being clobbered by Mr. Rove, who spelled out the republican winning strategy in 2006: Hammer the Dems on national security. It will prove to be a winning strategy. This will give the Republicans a Fourpeat victory starting in 2000. Keeping with the sports analogy, this will give a Republicans a victory in 6 of the last 8 elections.

The future headline is so easy to predict. Just remember that you read it here first.

Just a few months ago, liberals all over Europe, Canada and the United States were elated when the so called "upopularity" of President Bush, Tony Blair, Conservatives and the USA, in general, was in it's Zenith.

How things can change in just a few months. First, President Bush and Prime Minister Blair were reelected, Germany's Shroeder was defeated, the Chirac's popularity dipped to 19%. THE IRAN PROBLEM: WHO WILL BELL THE CAT?

The linked post by Victor Davis Hanson speaks of the problem of what to do about Iran's nuclear ambitions. He makes reference to the last time the world had a problem with a middle eastern madman's attempts to gain a nuclear weapon (Saddam Hussein) and how Isreal "Belled the Cat" for us by blowing his reactors to hell.

For those of you who received a public education after 1965, the "Bell the Cat" reference is to Aesop's fable about the rats who wanted to put a bell on the cat so that they would be warned when the cat was in the vicinity. The ending is that no rat would try. Moral of the story is this: everyone wanted a bell on the cat, but no one wanted to be the one who attempted the deed.

Sound familiar?

Let us flash forward to the day after George W. Bush takes the nuclear weapons out. (Does anyone seriously doubt that he will?) Let us review what will have been said by our great leaders of the loyal?? opposition:

Babs Boxer: (momentarily waking up from her normal brain dead condition). "Where is Iran?"

In my last post, I talked about how the Democrats had become the party of the terrorists.

One needs to only listen to the Senate Minority Leader, Harry Reid, speak this past weekend to a group of Democratic supporters. He proudly states that the Senate Democrats Quote: "killed the Patroit Act" Unquote.

This is only one example of the stupidity of the Democrats in the Senate. The Patriot Act was passed to stop the terrorists from hitting our country.

One can only assume that the Democrats want the country to be attacked again, so that they can blame it on President Bush. How else can one explain such disgusting behavior by Senator Reid and the audience who applauded his aforementioned quote?

One thing is perfectly clear. Dick Durbin was not misunderstood. His speech on the senate floor was a well orchestrated expression of what the Democrats truly believe: America is the world's evil and the terrorists are only trying to express themselves as the world guardian against George Bush, Republicans, and Christians.

Gitmo is only the latest furor in the Democrats War against America. The past heroes of the America hating left were Stalin, Ho-Chi-min, Mao, and yes, Pol Pot. Now comes Dick Durbin. Any attempt to Censure this fool will be met with great gnashing of teeth from all the party's mouthpieces. He will be treated like a god by Hollywood. Senator McCarthy will be raised from the grave and all his wrath will be directed toward Durbin. If he is expelled from the Senate, or tried for treason, he will become the new Rosenbergs. Republicans will be excoriated, crucified, mocked and painted as tyrants. History will be carefully written to show Durbin as a hero.

All this will be played out in the media in the next few weeks. It will be a lot of fun to watch the Democrats defend Durbin, much the same as they defended Bill Clinton, even as their party fall off the edge of the cliff toward irrevelance and eventually, oblivion.

By the way. When I spell checked this article, one of Netscape suggestions to replace Durbin was Turban. Isn't that ironic??

One definition of an idiot is: Doing the same thing time after time and expecting a different result.

That is exactly what George Soros and his lackeys, Neas, ACLU, moveon.org have been doing the last few years. Add People for the American Way, Sens. Boxer, Kennedy, Schumer, Leahy, corzine, and Fiengold. The right to filibuster has been taken out of their hands by seven moderate democrats, who will most certainly question any "extraordinary circumstances" by of their more rabid colleagues mentioned above. The seven Republicans will not even have to threaten to vote for the "Constitutional Option".

The have spent probably $300,000,000 dollars to do the following: Defeat George Bush, and by extension stop the nomination of Ms. Owen, Ms. Brown and Mr. Prior. They have failed in each and all of these endeavors.

How long will Mr. Soros finance losses by these folks? Is he an idiot? Who knows? (Actually Who Cares??) It is his money and I, for one, hope he spends it all on similar losing efforts.

As a gauge to anger of the electorate, I watch C-SPAN and count the callers for or against. This morning, three out of four of the calls were those railing against the judges who have been guaranteed up or down votes and will be confirmed. That battle is over, but the liberal angst goes on.

Another gauge of anger is weblogs. I have perused logs on both sides of this issue and can report that there is much more anger on the liberal pages than the conservative pages.

Another quage is the senate this morning. Liberal senator's have taken to the floor this morning decrying that the "Nuclear Option" is still on the table and can be invoked at any time, while filibustering just became almost impossible.

I did not post on the Senate agreement last night. I wanted to wait until today to see what happened in the Senate this morning.

Here is what happened. The prayer was read. The Senate started the session. Harry Reid came out strutting like a peacock and announced that the Senate had agreed to abandon the "Nuclear Option" or "Constitutional Option". He intimated that he expected the vote on Ms. Owens to be delayed for another thirty hours which would allow the likes of Boxer, Kennedy, Schumer, et al, to drag her through the mud again. He was thoroughly happy.

The Majority Leader, Senator Frist immediately reminded the Minority Leader that he was not a signatory to the agreement last night of the 14 senators and that he would, in fact, invoke the "Constitutional Amendment" immediately upon any further attempts to block up or down votes.
He (Frist) also said that the vote on Ms. Owens will be held at noon today without any delay expects quick confirmation on at least twelve judges who had been blocked.

Senator Reid then left the floor with his tail between his legs and was no longer smiling and happy.

The Senator from Alabama reiterated what Senator Frist alluded to and warned that the "Constitutional Option" was still on the table and would be used quickly. if necessary.

Fat headed Ted Kennedy then bloviated for ten minutes.

One of the signatories to the agreement, Sen Graham then took to the floor and stated emphatically that the agreement was such that he would render his vote for the "constitutional Option" if the dems reniged on their agreement to not filibuster everything that came to the floor.

So what happened here. The current logjam has been broken. Sen Frist is going to insist that a dozen or more of the nominees waiting (plus John bolton, for good measure) will get a quick review and vote. The Democrats gave up thier obstruction methods for these nominees and got nothing in return other than a promise by the Majority Leader to invoke the rules change immediately if a similar obstruction is tried again.

Media lies about the filibuster

Today on ABC website ABC News: Primer: Judicial Nominees and the Filibuster had two egregious errors. It originally said that Republican Strom Thurman filibustered the civil rights act. Fact: Sen. Thurman was a democrat at the time. Even worse it was used as an example of how the minority party used the filibuster to block the civil rights act. Wrong once again. Fact: The democrats filibustered the civil rights act and they were in the Majority.

More thoughts on this subject. The biggest Lib on MSNBC, Chris Matthews has said repeatedly in the last two days that the democrats are not going to get an agreement on anything until the define what "Extreme" is. He has also said that the Democrats started this fight. Who would thought I would ever agree with him on anything. Conversely, one of my favorites on MSNBC, Joe Scarborough seems to be siding with the Dems. He stated a couple of nights ago that this fight is only about abortion. He should have said that abortion on the Democrats side is solely about abortion. He should, but, does not seem to remember that to the Republicans it is about abortion, also, but, much, much more. "In god we trust", Pledge of allegiance, Gay marriage are just a few of the things the Republican Party is incensed about, not just abortion.

Two more thoughts about media lies: The two biggest lies told by the liberal media are: 1. We are losing the Vietnam War, when we were not. 2. The democrats were the civil rights party, when actually it was the republicans who supported the civil rights legislation.

This article is about the ficticious story printed in that famous leftwing rag, Newseek. The now refuted article claimed that a guard flushed a copy of the Koran down the toilet.

Some fact checks are required.

I presume that the U.S. military has the flushing requirements of 1.6L water per flush as required by legislators. One cannot even flush two pieces of toilet paper at one time down these sorry tiolets. Can you imagine trying to flush a whole Koran down one of these toilets?

The recent article in newsweek concerning a false story about abuse at Guantanamo base started riots all over the world. 16 deaths so far and probably many more to come!!

This isn't just sloppy reporting, it is criminal. The colonel on Fox news is right: Anybody associated with this article should be tried for, at least, murder, or at worst treason. The Arabs are already anti-american. We do not need the fans to be flamed.

The first amendment did not intend to allow sloppy and biased reporting to be protected.

I truly believe this is the end of the beginning of the downward spiral of the major news media. We wish it a quick demise...

President Bush has really done it now. Not only has he pointed out that the "perfect tax": Social Security, was not really all that perfect, but has really, really pissed off the libs. His remarks this week in "new Europe" about the failings of the allies, and specifically, President Roosevelt, at Yalta are particularly galling. Now you've really done it, Bub. They are really, really, really mad now.

It so happens that the architect of both these horrible truths was Franklin D. Roosevelt, the living God of the true liberal religion. The liberal media has gone to extreme pains to insure that all history involving their "living God" is subject to their suppression of any truths about him which would tarnish his image.

Liberal Democrats have only had one president in the past 100 years they are proud of, and, of course, it is Roosevelt. They should be proud of Harry Truman, but since he was more conservative than most Republicans are today, they cannot honor him. They continue to try to revise history to destroy the idea (and fact) that Jimmy Carter was the worst president in the history of the republic. Even though John Kennedy has been elevated to Sainthood, he would not even be allowed to speak at the last few democratic conventions, because he, too, was a conservative. Lyndon Johnson? No comment required. Bill Clinton? Pulleeease!!!, we are trying to have a serious discussion here.

President Roosevelt devised a perfect tax on the public, social security, and the Democrats have lived off it for 65 years. Why was it perfect?, you ask. It took money from the citizens and gave it to the government with almost no risk of ever having to give much of it back. After all, the payout to the citizens didn't' start until it was past the longevity years. When the government finally had a large enough stash of cash in the reserve, it was stolen to fund the Great Society and all other liberal causes since the sixties. Unfortunately, President Bush is pointing out the tax was not so perfect, after all. The longevity of the American public has long since stretched past age 65. Now it is time to pay the fiddler, and it is becoming common knowledge. It is galling to liberals that President Bush is taking potshots at the perfect tax, and it's creator, daily. This has them really mad; angry; fighting mad, even.

But the straw that breaks the camel's back just happened this week. Roosevelt's war record has been the one truth which could never be refuted, until this week, that is.
President Bush, correctly, pointed out that the Yalta Conference was flawed and led to a half century of horrible existence to Eastern Europe. At the time of the conference on the closing days of WWII, Roosevelt was so weak from illness that he allowed his cabinet, mostly socialists and communist sympathizers, to dictate his actions. (Gasp, what next? Could McCarthy have been right?). The result was the carving up of Europe and a gift to the largest mass murderer in history, Joseph Stalin. Roosevelt even wanted to give Stalin Turkey, but Churchill would not allow it. A Russia with access to the Mediterranean may have changed history for the worse.

Of course, President Bush must be destroyed by the liberal media, who have carefully crafted history to protect any harm to their "god" and their "religion". It has already started with newspaper articles, Chris Matthews, and other liberal mouthpieces. Trust me, it will get much worse. The viability of the Liberal Democrats and their religion is at stake, and must be stopped.

You heard it here first. They will not succeed. Oh, there will be a great lamenting and much gnashing of teeth, but there are now too many sources of news and real history for them to continue their subterfuge. The religion of the left has been exposed and it headed for the trash bin, just as communism was dispatched. You are watching the destruction of the Democratic Party. Their underpinnings are being knocked from underneath them, and it is about time!!!!

CNN's Bias is why they are losing ratings

This morning, I turned on my television to watch the latest news. My television stays mostly on FOX news, but on Saturdays they have a two hour market watch agenda between 9:00 and 11:00 central. I keyed in CNN headline news. I note Keyed in, because my TV does not normally stop at CNN or CNN headline news, since for the most part I find it worthless. I stayed on CNN headline news for less than two minutes.

During those two minutes, I found out how many deaths had been in Iraq. The news blonde mentioned this was "over 1500" as the crawler also noted the number of deaths. The program then switched to some Tsunami news about an Indochina village rebuilding their house and then it showed two soldiers roaming through the village. The person who was narrating the story noted that the only use for the weapons they were carrying was to kill.

What is wrong with this reporting?

1. The info-blonde babe said that the number of deaths of Americans in Iraq was over 1500.

Now I am a retired USAF senior NCO. I have a son, a niece, and several nephews currenty serving in the military and two have served in Iraq and another is preparing to go. I grieve the death of every servicemen, however, let's put some perspective on this type of reporting. Easily, more than 400,000 soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines have served there since the war began. The deaths, however significant each one is, is extremely low compared to those who have served there.

It is obvious that CNN is anti-war, so they miss no opportunity to tell us how may have died there. The facts were correct, however, it could just have easily been stated to say "less than 1600 soldiers have died there in the last two years." This would have been equally correct but would not serve their anti-war agenda.

2. CNN is blatantly anti-gun. The narrator was incorrect when she pointed out that weapons only use is to kill. Weapons are also used to protect, as in life and liberty, but this veiwpoint would not be in keeping with CNN's obvious bias.

Since this happened within two minutes of watching CNN, I shudder to think that this kind of bias reporting is happening 24/7 on two different cable programs. CNN and CNN headline news.

This is the reason that FOX news is beating the crap out of CNN in the ratings. By the way, in all of my watching of FOX this past week, I don't remember any reporter mentioning the body count in Iraq. CNN did it twice in less than two minutes.

The above two examples show the bias of CNN clearly. Just because something mentioned in a broadcast is factional, does not mean it is not presented in a biased manner

President should issue executive order in Shaivo case

It is legal for him to do so.

It is time to take this out of the court system, where it never should have been to start with.

You can listen to this podcast any time, however, I suggest that you turn the sound up and substitute podcast instead of nightly broadcast of so called news on NBC,ABC,CBS,CNN, MSNBC, or PBS. I would still watch FOX news.

All we want is the truth

As a blogger, I have no personal glee that Eason Jordon was fired from CNN. I do not know him personally, but I know him from his profession. I don't fell sorry he was fired, but that is not the same thing as being gleeful. The real problem is that someone with his liberal bias was in charge of a widely watched network in the first place.

Why is this a problem, you may ask? I only need to cite one example.

Back in the day, Walter Cronkite was the most trusted man in America. We listened to his every word and believed he was reporting honestly, so our collective opinions were formed from his nightly show which entered our living rooms. When he told us that the Vietnam War was going badly, especially the Tet Offensive, the American public believed him. As a result, this country was forced to halt our actions in Vietnam and leave the country. It was only in the last few years that Walter confessed to the world that he is a card carrying, died-in-the-wool liberal. He abhorred the war. We also have discovered that he mis-reported about the Tet offensive. The facts are that the American Military did not lose one single battle during this phase of the Vietnam War, but , since Walter was anti-war, he slanted the news to reflect badly on our efforts there. As a result, an estimated three million combodians were slaughtered by the Khmer Rouge (backed by the North Vietnamese Communists) after our withdrawal from Vietnam.

Walter set the standard for the next 30 years of reporting the news. If you don't agree with something, just tell the American public how bad it is and you can shape public opinion. The opinion about the Vietnam War is still very negative.

Again, why is that , you you ask? Here is the answer, thousands of Walter Want-to-be's were suddenly talking to us about every subject they did not like and trying to shaping public opinion. These so- called- professional reporters have not checked the facts, hence, the Vietnam War was a terrible loss for this country. Most of the public believed this and still do.

These same liberal minded, anti-war so-called reporters, are now reporting every thing from Iraq that is negative, and, at the same time, ignoring all the many good things that are happening there.

This is why bloggers are so important. No sooner than any of these so-called professional reporters open their mouth, thousands of bloggers are already refuting what they are saying.
We are exposing their biases on an almost minute-by-minute basis.

We are holding them accountable, like we should have held Walter accountable, and they do not like it. Now we are hearing the bleating from the reporters that free speech is being squelched by the bloggers. Free speech is great thing, but folks have to know that responsibility accrues when exercizing this very valuable right . In other words, we are responsible for anything we say. For thirty years, no-one questioned the news media, and the news media was certainly not fact-checking themselves. When They were not slanting the news, in many cases, the were (and still are) mis-reporting the news, as Walter did. The difference now is they are no longer given a free pass.

All we bloggers want is the truth, or, if you prefer, both sides of the truth. We are and will continue to demand this from the media, politicians, actors and anyone else who is reporting or opining on the happenings in today's world. It is a pity we did not have a voice when Walter was spinning, and reporting his information in a biased manner.

The end of the Democratic Party

This article by Noemie Emery published by the Weekly Standard The Dems' Week from Hell, is profound in it's accuracy and foresight.

We who served in the military had a term for someone who really screwed up: "He crapped in his own messkit". For those of you who did not serve in the military, a messkit is something you have to eat out of while in the field for long periods of time.

The Democrats have made it a veritable daily habit of fouling their own messkit. I am amazed at the utter stupidity of the party leaders. It appears that they are bent on their own destruction, even more rapid than one could have conceived, from the Iraq war to Social Security, with stops at the Senate hearings on Condi Rice and Alberto Gonzales...

Now comes word that they probably will select Howard Dean to head their party. Are they crazy? The Democrats have listened to discussions only among themselves for so long that they truly believe all the pap they have been trying to feed the American Public. The public has long since quit believing their self serving actions and have turned to the Republican Party for true leadership on almost every issue facing the country.

Senator Crazy

I have listened for two days the painful crucifiction of Condi Rice by the likes of John Kerry, Joseph Biden and last, but not least, "Senator Crazy (Barbara Boxer).

There was only one statement that Boxer said that I agree with. "I am disturbed" I agree with her. She is disturbed!!. Maybe Deranged. Possibly Crazy. Almost surely an Idiot...

What a farce. If Ms. Boxer truly represents the Democratic Party, then they are more trouble that I thought...
